14.3.1 Running reusable search queries
14.3.2 Edit reusable search query
14.3.3 Standard actions on queries

14.3.1 Running reusable search queries

Clicking on the name of a query wherever it appears will cause the saved query to be run and the results to be displayed. Alternatively, they can be run by clicking "Run Search" on the Edit Query form (see Figure 5.5.1) in the usual way.

14.3.2 Edit reusable search query

To alter a query, click on   |  Edit Query . This will return you to the Edit Query Form and will allow you to change the search location and all the criteria of the search. When you have finished making your changes, click on "Update Query" to save your changes or "Run Search" to save the changes and run the new query.

14.3.3 Standard actions on queries

Like folders, documents and other Business Collaborator objects, queries can be cut, copied and deleted in the usual way (see section 3.6). Cut or copied queries will be moved temporarily into your bag and deleted queries will go into your waste bin. Reusable searches can be moved between your personal Query Bag and shared folders as required.

Reusable search queries can also be renamed, locked and have their descriptions edited. Queries can be run by any user while they are locked but the name, description and query details may only be edited by the person who locked the query. Access rights on them may be changed in the usual way.

Click on the    to the left of the query name to Edit Query - i.e. alter some aspect of the query. Details of how to construct complex queries are given in section 5.5.4.
