17.1 Introduction
Document reviewing has been completely re-implemented in Business Collaborator version 4.9. Document reviewing is very similar to document issuing (see section 15 - Document Issuing) but with a number of differences:
-
Perhaps most importantly, review comments are provided per review aggregating the comments together over the whole set of documents whereas issue comments are specified per document.
-
Also, the Purpose of Review is the same for all reviewers, not distinguished as it is for issues
-
When a document is issued, it cannot be altered at a later date - it becomes immutable. However, a document can be changed after it has been reviewed.
-
Issuing documents to people can make the documents available to people who did not have access to it before, e.g. because they were Private (see section 13.2.2 - Privacy). However, documents under review can only be accessed by those who already have access to it in the usual way.
-
Whereas an issue requires a set of people to be defined as the circulation group of the issue, a set of reviewers need not be specified to review the associated documents. If no-one is specified, the document has an Open Distribution and any folder member who wishes may contribute their comments.
-
Issues are sent out but reviews can be commented upon from the instant that they are created.
