19.4.1 Viewing and modifying markups
To view existing markup files on a document, click on | View and Markup for the document to view the document using Brava!. Alternatively, click on the name of the .mrk file containing the markup. This will open the original drawing along with the markup file associated with it. If you simply wish to view the contents of the markup file, then click "Open for Review..." on the menu to select an existing markup file, or files, to display. The majority of actions on the markup toolbar will be unavailable (greyed out). The contents of all of the markup files opened will be displayed together.
However, if you wish to modify an existing markup file, click "Open..." on the menu. This will give access to all of the markup actions described in section 19.3. You may add new markups or you may select - by clicking on on the Brava! markup toolbar - and modify existing ones.
-
Note 1
-
You will only be permitted to amend markups which you initially created.
-
Note 2
-
It is only possible to have a single markup file open for editing at any one time but many markup files can be opened simultaneously for viewing.
To close a markup file which is open only for reviewing, click "Close Review..." on the menu. You will be prompted to select the markup file to close if several are open for viewing simultaneously. You will not be given the option to save.
To close an editable markup file, use one of the options on the menu:
-
"Save" any changes you have made into the currently open markup file. (This option is not available until you change the document.)
-
"Save As..." if you wish to save changes you have made to a new markup file.
-
"Close" if you do not wish to save changes.
19.4.2 Using changemarks®
Changemarks are a special kind of annotation which can be used (usually in association with other types of markup) to locate changes to a document quickly and guide reviewers through the changes. Changemarks have associated with them 3 attributes:
-
name
-
text description
-
hyperlink - a link to another object on the Internet (potentially locally, on the Business Collaborator server)
Existing changemarks for a markup can be located by clicking on "Changemark" on the menu. Note that no Changemarks will appear unless a markup file (containing Changemarks) has been opened (see section 19.4.1). This displays a list of the existing changemarks - see Figure 19.4-1. It is possible to cycle through the list of changemarks or display only part of the list via user-configurable filters. When the name of a changemark is clicked on:
-
the view will refresh to the zoom level at which the Changemark was saved
-
the Changemark in the document view will pulse to indicate its location
-
the Changemark's description will be displayed
Double clicking on the changemark name will display the changemark's details. These details will not be editable if the markup file has been opened for review. When the Changemark details are displayed, the "Launch" button beside the hyperlink can be used to open another web browser window containing the link's associated location.
