3.8.1 Page contents

Click   |  More Info  for an object to obtain the info page for that object. (If you have actions hidden - see section section 5.7.2.3 - or are viewing a search results page - see section section 5.5.3 - you should click the equivalent icon, More Info, to obtain the information page.) This page supplies some technical information about the object, shows the version history of versioned documents (see section 3.7), current access rights (see section 4.6), the object's event history (see section 4.7) and additional optional information such as metadata (see Section 13 - Metadata). Information in some of these categories may be edited from this page. (In some cases, access to this functionality may be available from elsewhere as well.)

Note
In the Access details table on the info page, members are listed individually to allow inspection of access rights on an individual basis. However, in the Access Rights table (where access rights are altered) members of the workspace or shared folder are listed as the group "Members of [object name

The contents of the info page may vary depending on the type of object and its attributes. For instance, the information page for documents under version control contains additional information as described below.

Actions which can be accessed exclusively from this page are:

  •  View/Change  |  Show History  - a complete event history of the object from its creation, independent of event "catch ups" (see section 4.7 on events). Note that this may take quite a while, especially if the object was created a long time ago.
  •  View/Change | Access  - owners (see section 4.5 where owners are defined) can alter access to the object for other workspace members

3.8.2 Version information

For documents under version control (see section 3.7), the info page presents a table containing the version history of the document. Several actions specific to documents under version control are permitted from this page:

  • Click the version number [Id] in the left column to download previous versions of the document.
  • Click  View/Change  |  Version Info  (on the info page) to bring up a form which lets you edit the version number, state and change description of the current version - see Figure 3.8-1

Figure 3.8-1: Version information.

3.8.3 Access rights

Under the heading Access details, the info page presents a table of the current access rights indicating what users can perform what actions on the current object. The interpretation of this table and the modification of access rights are discussed in section 4.6.

If you are the owner of the object whose info page is being displayed -- indicated by (*) next to your user name in the Access details table -- the page will allow you to change access rights on this object.

3.8.4 Object history

Business Collaborator keeps a log of every action on every object in the system. The info page displays the part of the record for the current object that is more recent than your last "Catch Up" on the current object (see section 4.7 on events).

Under Changes since Date Time the info page shows

  • the names of the users who made a 'Get' access to the object, i.e. read it
  • a list of changes plus the names of the users who made the changes
