6.2.2 Unlocking a document
To prevent other users from editing a document at the same time as you are making changes to it, you can lock the document. Others will still be able to read the document or download a copy for themselves but they will be automatically prevented from replacing (or revising) the document.
When you edit a document using Save from Windows (see section 3.3), it will be locked automatically for you.
6.2.1 Locking a document
To lock a document, click on | Lock to lock a single document or select several documents and click on Selected | Lock . The Lock icon will appear beside the document name, indicating that it has been locked. Clicking on this icon indicates who locked the document and when. While the document is locked, only the person who locked the document will be able to make changes to it by replacing (or revising) the document, but no-one else will be permitted to do so.
6.2.2 Unlocking a document
To unlock a document, click on | Unlock to return it to its original state. The document can now be replaced (or revised) by all those who originally had sufficient permissions. The document's history reports when the document was locked and unlocked.
A document may also be locked by clicking on the Lock icon if you were the person who locked it.
A quick way to unlock all your documents is to use the "Unlock All" function. The View/Change | Unlock All Files button will appear on your personal information page. This page can be reached by clicking on your name (e.g. where it appears beside a document) or by clicking User | User Info ).
