7.2.1 Adding a mailbox
To receive email you need to add a mailbox. Each mailbox in Business Collaborator is associated with a single
mail account - so if you have more than one account on one or more servers, you will need to set up a separate
mailbox for each account that you wish to be able to access.
Click Add | Mailbox to be prompted for mailbox setup details.
You will be presented with a page like the one shown in Figure 7.2-1.
Figure 7.2-1: Adding a new mailbox
Enter a name for your mailbox. Now enter some details about your mail account - first the mail server name. You can leave the port number as it is, unless you were told otherwise by your system administrator. Now enter your account details - your user name and password for the mail server. Note that these will probably be different from your Business Collaborator details. (If you are not sure what these are, you may be able to obtain them from your usual email client, e.g. Outlook or Eudora.)
If you are adding a new mailbox somewhere other than your personal email area, you will be asked to choose where you want to put the mailbox - either in your current location or your personal email area (see section 7.2.2). If you are not sure, you should leave the new mailbox in your personal email area as you can always move it later. Check "Remove messages from server" if you do not wish to have access the messages you read in Business Collaborator from your usual email client. Check "Automatically extract all attachments to a new folder" if you wish to strip attachments from incoming messages automatically - see section 7.5.5.
Finally, click on "Create Mailbox" to create your new mailbox.
7.2.2 Personal email area
Your personal email area (shown in Figure 7.2-2) is another place like your Home, your bag or your waste bin. To enter your personal
email area, click on .
Note that this icon will only appear after you add your first mailbox to your personal email area.

7.2.3 Navigating your personal email area
To make navigation of your Personal Email Area easy, every mailbox and mail folder
allows you to quickly navigate to other mailboxes and mail folders elsewhere in your personal email area. To move to another mail location, select an item and click on it.
The number of messages which you have downloaded from the mail server but have not yet read is displayed in the location bar.
-
Note:
-
If an item in the list has new messages inside it, an asterisk (*) will be displayed after its name - if you
filter incoming mail to different folders, you can easily tell if mail has arrived and has been copied or
moved by consulting the list.
